Our love for each other and our children underscores our desire to support our families in the teaching of Biblical principles to our youth through Bible lessons, song, example, and activities which lift up the name of Jesus Christ and allow our children to understand application of these principals in real life.
Sunday School is made up of children from age 3 through high school. During morning services teachers instruct the younger students from Bible Story books and the older from the Bible. Additionally they enjoy a time of singing before and after the lesson.
High school students are a part of ACYF (Apostolic Christian Youth Fellowship) and they have many activities including evenings of singing with other Illinois AC high school students, mission trips and local service projects.
To provide helpful guidance and instruction to high school- aged students, our ACTIVE (Apostolic Christian Training In Values Education) group meets twice a month at the Washington Park District Building. Each event features a speaker that discusses topics relevant to high schoolers, and then everyone enjoys a snack and fellowship to close the evening.
Bible Class Senior Dinner
Each spring, the Sunday School Bible Class teachers host a dinner for the graduating seniors and their parents. After the meal, one of the church ministers shares a devotion with the group and each senior is presented a thank you from the Bible Class teachers.
Each fall, the church dads and their sons spend a Friday-night and Saturday morning together in our annual Father-Son campout. The boys look forward to this with great anticipation as a time of memory-building song, games, food and togetherness including hot-dogs and brats over an open fire and pancakes and eggs just after the sun rises.
Every year, during the first full week of June, we have Vacation Bible School. We welcome you to join us!
Sunday School Picnic
Each summer at the conclusion of the Sunday School year, the entire church family gathers at a local park for an outdoor picnic and evening of fellowship, song, and children's activities.
